Summary

Philadelphia celebrated Asymptote’s 3rd anniversary with readings by Hilary Plum (contributing editor for The Kenyon Review, and author of the novel, They Dragged Them Through The Streets), Ken Kalfus (author of three novels, National Book Award finalist), Katherine Hill (author of The Violet Hour), and translator Vincent Kling (winner of the 2013 Schlegel-Tieck Prize). After the first two readings, the Philadelphia Women’s Slavic Ensemble gave a stirring performance of three songs from Bulgaria and one from Croatia. Every seat was filled at the Asian Arts Initiative and the lively event prompted several of the authors to dub it "one of the best readings we’ve ever been to.”
