The Class, Death Seminar

Araya Rasdjarmrearnsook

In
The Class, Death Seminar, lifeless bodies obtained from a morgue are the students. The teacher is artist Araya Rasdjarmrearnsook who stands in front of a blackboard, at times lecturing on the topic of death, and at times engaging a conversation with these students. Together teacher and students re-examine attitudes towards death and puzzle over the life-after-death conundrum.

Araya Rasdjarmrearnsook (b. 1957) is a prominent Thai artist whose work often examines death and lamentation. She received her M.F.A. from Silpakorn University in Thailand.
